Abuse. Harassment. Fleeing. Hagar understood the pain of being abused and she fled. But in her running, she encountered a living God who was watching over her. The Lord asks her a couple soul-level questions and then in the midst of her trauma, gives her a promise. Hagar exclaims: “You are the God who sees me.” We can experience this same living God in our painful circumstances.
