Elijah: encounter is a matter of focus

One of the most spectacular encounters with God happens in a showdown with the prophet Elijah and false prophets on Mt. Carmel. You’d expect Elijah to be riding high with confidence after that experience. Instead, he sinks into despair with even suicidal thoughts. But God comes to meet him, but it’s not the way we’d expect. God often shows up in the quiet moments, in an inner personal experience with Him.
