In North America we say things like: God first, family 2nd, church 3rd. This however goes against the New Testament. In our eyes, Jesus makes many offensive anti-family statements (i.e. Mark 3:31-35, Luke 9:59-60, etc.). He is doing so to establish His new spiritual family that He invites your primary allegiance towards.
